A Year with Puccini
For Opera enthusiasts, concerts throughout the year dedicated to the Maestro
Throughout the year, there are many events featuring the Maestro's great music. As he would have liked, it is played everywhere—in the square, at the theater, at sunset, by the lake—but always with the passion and quality of great performers.

In the Serchio Valley, just as they once did, summer vigils are held in the courtyard in front of the house. If the courtyard is Puccini's, the vigil is, of course, held while listening to opera concerts and recitals.
The concert series Cells under the stars, In Celle di Pescaglia, a small village surrounded by chestnut groves, promoted and organized by the Lucchesi nel Mondo association, the festival offers, during the summer months, some beautiful musical evenings in the small square in front of the museum set up in the ancestral home. In the afternoon, the house is open for visits.

But it is not only the courtyard of Puccini's house that hosts music in the summer. Serchio of the Muses is the traveling open-air festival that brings opera to the Serchio Valley, against the evocative backdrop of the Apuan Alps and the backdrop of piazzas, gardens, and remote and unusual mountain locations. When evening falls and the show is about to begin, the Valley rediscovers the magic of the vigils of yore, the pleasure of gathering together in the cool of the piazzas and churchyards, and like a spell, the Serchio River calls forth its Muses, and all its guests.
Throughout the summer, from July to September, evenings with the best nationally and internationally renowned artists, concerts and performances, and Grand Opera Galas.

Always in summer, between July and August, in Versilia, the adopted land of Giacomo Puccini who spent part of his life there, one of the Maestro's dreams comes true every year: to see his operas performed right there, on the shores of the lake where he composed many of his immortal melodies.
The historic Puccini Festival Every year, the Grand Open-Air Theater on Lake Massaciuccoli presents an operatic program featuring the finest singers, conductors, directors, musicians, set designers, and costume designers for performances of the Maestro's most celebrated works. This is one of the most anticipated events in Tuscany's cultural life, the most important opera festival in Italy and the only one in the world dedicated to the composer Giacomo Puccini. Since 1930, over the years, it has become a prestigious event, attracting thousands of spectators from around the world. Puccini's operas are performed in the 3.400-seat Grand Open-Air Theater, located directly in front of the Maestro Puccini House Museum, where his remains are still kept.

In Lucca, however, with autumn we return to the theater for a completely non-classical tribute to Puccini.
From a collaboration with the Teatro del Giglio, all the versatility of Puccini is brought to a festival that is increasingly successful precisely because of its ability to explore and connect seemingly distant worlds, united by the name of Giacomo Puccini.
Since the first edition, in 2015, Lucca, Puccini Days It has brought together a variety of musical experiences, blending opera with jazz, rock, and gypsy music, to branch out into narrative theater, integrating events with big names. It is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca, the Giacomo Puccini Foundation, and the Teatro del Giglio, and is supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, and the patronage of MIBACT – Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, the Tuscany Region, and AGIS Toscana.
