A stone's throw from Maestro Puccini's birthplace, Le Cartoline Pucciniane event is the result of the collaboration between Teatro del Giglio, Fondazione Giacomo Puccini and Puccini Museum - Casa Natale.
4 events, one every month, during the summer period in Piazza Cittadella, in the heart of Lucca, right in the small square in front of the Maestro's birthplace. 
4 magic concerts, where the audience can approach the great Puccini repertoire with simplicity and informality, surrounded by the unique atmosphere of the squares and monuments of the composer's hometown.
4 operas with selections of arias, and concerted duets accompanied by piano.

In the Serchio Valley, just as it used to be done in the past, in the summer period people stay in the front yard until late night. In the courtyard of Puccini's house, of course, while listening to opera concerts and recitals.
The concert festival Celle sotto le stelle, in Celle di Pescaglia in the village among the chestnut woods, promoted and organized by the association Lucchesi nel Mondo, offers, in the summer months, some beautiful events with music in the square in front of the museum set up in the house of his ancestors and in the afternoon the house is open for visits.

But not only the courtyard of the Puccini house hosts music in summer. Serchio delle Muse is an open-air travelling festival that brings opera to the Serchio Valley, with the suggestive scenery of the Apuan Alps and the stage of squares, gardens, remote and unusual places in the mountains. When evening falls and the show is about to go on stage, the Valley rediscovers the magic of the vigils of the past, the pleasure of being together in the cool shade of the squares, on the festivals of the churches, and like a spell the Serchio river calls its Muses.

Also in summer, between July and August, in Versilia, the land adopted by Giacomo Puccini who spent part of his life there, a dream of the Maestro is fulfilled every year: his operas are performed right there, on the shore of the lake where he composed many of his immortal melodies.
The historic Puccini Festival in the open air theater on lake Massaciuccoli presents every year an opera program that puts on stage the best singers, conductors, directors, musicians, set designers, costume designers for the performance of the Maestro's most famous operas in one of the most expected events of cultural life of Tuscany, the most important opera festival in Italy and the only one in the world dedicated to the composer Giacomo Puccini. Since 1930, over the years, it has become a prestigious event capable of attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. Puccini's operas are staged in the Great Open Air Theatre with 3,400 seats, right in front of the Casa Museo of Maestro Puccini where his remains are still kept.

On the anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's death, on Tuesday 29 November, the Puccini Month, the winter festival of the Puccini Festival Foundation in collaboration with other institutions in Versilia, kicks off. Between November 29th and the anniversary of the Maestro's birth on December 22nd, a series of interesting events dedicated to music, art, literature and cinema. Not only theatre, the events are hosted in unusual places of the city and other prestigious locations in Versilia.

In Lucca, in autumn the theatre offers a tribute to Puccini completely out of the classical world.
From a collaboration with the Teatro del Giglio, all the versatility of Puccini in a festival that is becoming more and more successful because of its ability to explore and communicate with seemingly distant worlds, united in the name of Giacomo Puccini.
Since the first edition, in 2015, Lucca i giorni di Puccini - Puccini Days has put together various and different music experiences by combining opera with jazz, rock and gypsy music, to cross over into the theater of storytelling, integrating events with important stars, made in collaboration with the City of Lucca, Fondazione Giacomo Puccini and Teatro del Giglio, and realized with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, the patronage of MIBACT - Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism, Tuscany Region, AGIS Toscana.

If you happen to be in Lucca, at any time of the year,  Puccini e la sua Lucca International Festival will welcome you, for a concert before dinner, just a few steps from the house where he was born.
For 12 years the only Festival that offers music of Giacomo Puccini in his hometown, Lucca,
From April 1 to October 31 the concerts are held every day at 7:00 pm at Basilica San Giovanni. From 1st November to 31st March every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in the winter festival venue at the Oratory of San Giovanni.
With more than 12 years of uninterrupted programming, more than 4000 concert performances and more than 70 professional singers in the cast, the Festival offers every night a different programme and interpreters for a high quality Puccini experience in the city where the Maestro was born.
