500 years after his death, Leonardo da Vinci's genius is celebrated with exhibitions, conferences and shows
2019 is the year dedicated to celebrating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death in Amboise on 2 May 1519.

The Tuscany Region celebrates this undisputed genius of the Renaissance through multiple initiatives that will introduce Leonardo to an artist, inventor, engineer, architect, botanist and father of modern anatomy.
Museums, cultural institutions, Municipalities of Tuscany have organized exhibitions, conferences, events, shows, walks, guided tours, all the initiatives are united by the objective of deepening and making the complex personality of Leonardo da Vinci better known.

In Lucca the photographic exhibition by Eni Cagnoni Beauty beyond appearance is dedicated to the iconographic fantasies of Leonardo Da Vinci.

On the occasion of the inauguration, on May 18, at 5:00 pm a concert by the harpsichordist Tommaso Nicoli will be held.

Wednesday, May 22nd at the Oratory of San Giuseppe at 17:00 professor Francesco Micheli will give a lecture entitled Leonardo sculptor. To date, however, it is not possible to assign the Maestro any safe sculptural work, despite the numerous proposals made, including the announcing Angel of the Pieve di San Gennaro, in the province of Lucca.
