BIKE EVENTS OF THE YEAR

The main events of the year for two-wheel enthusiasts

April - Cicloclassica Puccini

the cycle ride in the Lands of Giacomo Puccini to visit the places dear to the Maestro, pedalling all together, young and old, from the house where he was born in Lucca to the villa on Lake Massaciuccoli

27 April 2025 - Granfondo Puccini City of Lucca

second edition of the Granfondo Puccini Città di Lucca, a cycling event dedicated to the great composer Giacomo Puccini and a not-to-be-missed appointment for all cycling enthusiasts, offering the opportunity to cycle through the marvellous landscapes of the Lucca area.

1 May 2025 - Padulata del 1° maggio

through the Padule di Porcari (Porcari Marshes), a pedal ride for everyone that crosses the landscapes of the Lucca Plain reclamation, encountering rural buildings and cultivated fields, crossing canals full of flowers and populated by aquatic fauna.

25 May 2025 - Giro d'Italia

Divided by history, united by the Giro d'Italia for the 10th stage of the 2025 Giro d'Italia Very fast time trial with a small intermediate climb that roughly retraces the 1977 time trial won by Knudsen. Start with a half lap of the Walls of Lucca (as it was in the prologue of 1984) and then towards Pisa through the Foro di San Giuliano and San Giuliano Terme itself. We ride along the Medici aqueduct to the Arno and finally to the finish line next to the leaning tower in Piazza dei Miracoli.

August - La Vinaria

For those who want to combine passion, fun, nature and landscape for cycling in company and good food. The Vinaria is open to all, and participants can take part with racing bikes before 1987 on two routes, ‘the divine’ of 43 kilometres for cyclists who want to enjoy the scenery and excellent refreshments, and ‘the intrepid’ of 78 kilometres, for the adventurous

October - Puccini Gravel

From Viareggio inland and back through the nature reserve of Lake Massaciuccoli, over the Tuscan hills and along the Serchio river in the unspoilt natural landscape of the San Rossore Park to return to Viareggio along the coast with a view of the sea. An unforgettable Gravel cycling experience in one of the most beautiful and evocative corners of Tuscany.
