The jury composed of directors of the main European institutions, the scholarships at the most prestigious International Academy of Dance, theater del Giglio, an historical Italian theater equipped with the latest instruments for the show, moments of encounter and confrontation between dancers, teachers, schools from all over Europe and all activities open to the public of fans and fascinated by this art are the elements of dance portani Meeting 2016.

The program consists of various sections with events in historical places of the city and a "Raids" program in the squares and streets in cooperation with the Music Institute "Boccherini".

h 21:00 Teatro del Giglio - Gran Gala of the Dance Meeting Lucca 2017 Opening with international academies: Ballett Schule Basel Theater, Codarts Rotterdam, John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Pôle National Supérieur Danse Cannes Marseille. The program consists of Giselle, Nutcracker excerpts, Don Chisciotte and choreography by Jiří Kylián, Francesco Nappa, Stephen Shropshire and other great choreographers.

Friday 28 and Saturday, April 29

Dance and music come out of the Teatro del Giglio to wrap the city of Lucca at the Dance Meeting. The "raids" are an innovative project that brings together and dialogue between musicians and dancers Italian and Dutch. They are at work for months some fifty musicians from the Conservatory of Music Boccherini of Lucca, coordinated by professor Elena Giannesi, who sent to Holland their musical bases.
