Get ready to visit Lucca and see a city you have never seen before this way, explore the green spots of the gardens that can usually be seen only from the top of the towers, hidden by high walls in the historic center of Lucca.
For garden globetrotters this is the opportunity for a discovery tour of all local green secrets!
On Sunday 23 May from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm the gardens and courtyards are open again for the 2021 edition of the Giardini e Cortili aperti event.
The most widespread museum of the area.
In Tuscany there are over 120 historic mansions including castles, fortresses, villas, parks and gardens that have joined the initiative and that open their doors to welcome for free all visitors who want to immerse themselves in unique historical places representing an artistic and cultural heritage.
Different initiatives are promoted by the owners of these locations in occasion of the National Open Day with exhibitions, concerts and theatre performances, as well as an Instagram-challenge created in collaboration with the Photolux festival.
For the participation just upload a photo on your profile using the hashtag # Giornatanazionaleadsi2021.
In addition to the official hashtag of the day, participants are invited to mention @dimore_storiche_italiane, @photoluxfest, any profiles of the historic houses photographed and of the concerned local IG community, as well as using the hashtag: #adsi # photolux2021 #weareigers.
The jury will select the 25 original shots that will be exposed in an exhibition at Palazzo Bernardini in Lucca, from 4 to 26 September 2021, together with the exhibition of the winners of the World Press Photo award 2021.
