A romantic and refined journey through the greatest female voices, from Ella Fitzgerald to Mina, from Sarah Vaughan to Ornella Vanoni, from Caterina Valente to Aretha Franklin among jazz, bossanova and soul. This is the theme of this evening's concert "Voices of women" with Michela Lombardi together with Piero Frassi on the piano and Nico Gori on the sax and clarinet. The program includes famous jazz and classic bossanova standards up to the refined pop by Burt Bacharach but also the music of the Beatles and the songs by Carlo Alberto Rossi and Gino Paoli.

Michela Lombardi is among the top ten best Italian jazz vocalists according to the Jazzit Award 2010, every year is mentioned in the "Best voice" section in the Top Jazz polls of the magazine "Musica Jazz" and is already at her third nomination for the recent Italian Jazz Awards. She has a degree with honors in Philosophy and graduated with honors at the Jazz Triennium of the Florence Conservatory. From 1999 to today she has recorded 10 records under her name, of which two with Renato Sellani and two with Phil Woods, who wanted her to record a collection of her compositions. He signed a song with Burt Bacharach. He has sung in important festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Israel.

Nico Gori, the rising star of Italian jazz, on the clarinet and sax, is a stable member of the "I Visionari" Quintet by Stefano Bollani, with whom he released a CD for the French label Label Bleu, and plays in the Bollani Carioca project. He was a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra. Recently he was called by the great pianist Fred Hersch with whom he regularly plays in duo in several concerts in New York, and together in duo have recorded the CD "Da Vinci". He has long collaborated with famous musicians such as A. Tavolazzi, A. Salis, P. Dalla Porta, B. Tommaso, S. Gibellini, R. Gatto, E. Rava, ORT, Chicago Underground, T. Kennedy, D. Weckl , L. Konitz.

Piero Frassi, born in 1971, graduated in classical piano at the "Boccherini" Conservatory in Lucca and in Jazz at the "Mascagni" Conservatory in Livorno. Already a pianist of artists such as Karima Ammar, Tullio De Piscopo and Linda Wesley, he opened the Italian concerts of Burt Bacharach, Seal, Simply Red, Kenny Garrett and Whitney Houston. He is the leader of the trio in his name with Gabriele Evangelista and Andrea Melani, with whom he has recorded three new records for the Philology label, in one of which the trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso is a guest.
