Guided tours
Restart step by step and discover near but unknown places. From the civic towers to the hidden corners of the city, from the San Martino cathedral to Villa Reale, from music to art, in the company of professional guides on july and august 2020
Every Friday from the end of July to September tourists and locals are invited to discover Lucca through 20 different tours. Two guided tours every Friday, one in the late afternoon, before dinner, and one after dinner in the evening. Great classics and some unusual aspects of Lucca for 20 itineraries created by professional tourist guides of the city, working for the tourist guide associations Lucca Info & Guide, La Giunchiglia and Turislucca. There will be different topics in the focus: the Walls, the importance of water in Lucca, the city in literature, the gardens, the maestros of music, silk, the surprises of the Baroque, the Via Francigena route and pilgrims.
The hashtags # chosen for the social promotion #livelikealocal #feellikeatourist are an invitation to these guided tours for citizens who want to feel like tourists at home and tourists who want to get to know the city better at unusual times.
In August, the tours will be accompanied by a short music interlude by the musicians of the Lucca Classica Music Festival in Piazza San Michele at 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, to end the afternoon tour and to start the evening tour.
Every week on the FB page luccaturismo previews and curiosities about the organised events. (the complete program)
Participation is free for everyone with reservations required at the tourist information offices in Piazzale Verdi and Piazza Curtatone (tel.+39 0583 583150 and 0583 442213) for a maximum of 20 people per group.
