Running weekend ... with the three marches in the historic center of Lucca.

It starts on Saturday with the 4th edition of the LucCanina, the "six-legged" race for... mixed couples runner with dog, where pedigree, elegance, and hairstyles do not count.
The meeting is at 14:00 from Villa Bottini, the departure at the Baluardo San Salvatore Ex Casa del Boia, the path, walk and ride, along the ring of the walk of the city walls.
The ranking will see a winner and two placed. Other categories will also be rewarded for the best, most beautiful, most disobedient couple and others.

Sunday 5th May double date with the 6th edition of the Lucca Half Marathon "the half of Lucca" 21.097 km between the ramparts and the sixteenth-century battlements of the walls of Lucca and the Lucchesina.
In 2019 you can also run in pairs, 10.548 km relay, to travel for a single goal.

At 7:30 am - meeting for registrations at the Expo Lucca HALF Marathon of Villa Bottini. Each registered athlete will receive the official race package.
at 9:00 am - departure from Porta Elisa on the walk of the city walls, part of the walls up to Porta Santa Maria, around the circumference of the walls and section of the city center, Via Fillungo, Via Santa Croce, Piazza S.Francesco and second round then finish on Via Elisa near Villa Bottini.

There will be refreshments on arrival and every 5 km along the route. Water will be present in all the refreshment points. Moreover, starting from km 10, fruit, biscuits and supplements will be available. Expected refreshments for celiac athletes.
The athletes who arrive regularly at the finish line will be entitled to the official medal of the race. At the finish line the athletes will find: the refreshment area, the personal bags collection area, the locker rooms and the massage area.

You can run or just walk, alone or in company, as a training or as a pleasure to see the story that surrounds you or for the pleasant meetings you could do.
This year the route will be enriched with passages under the walls, from the old sorties to access the forewarnings from where you can admire the circle of sixteenth-century walls. A short but conspicuous refreshment will brighten the end of the path in the garden of Villa Bottini.

In 2019 the race of Lucca, La Lucchesina pays homage to Carlo Del Prete Italian aviator, gold medal for aeronautical value. In the official race pack, a commemorative technical t-shirt in remembrance of the world record in a straight line flying without a stop, held by Maggiore Carlo Del Prete paired with Arturo Ferrarin on 3-5 July 1928, after covering 7,450 km in 44 hours and 9 minutes at an average speed of 168 km / h.
