The wooden figures of the Trentino artist invade the Lu.C.C.A. Lounge & Underground from 10 May to 9 June 2019.

When wood becomes a symbol of a territory and an artist. It is no coincidence that the Trentino sculptor Giorgio Conta has chosen to use this material for the realization of his works. His solo show entitled "Sculpting a territory", curated by Maurizio Vanni, organized with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, with the support of Zadra Interni and the contribution of the San Romedio Mine Group, reveals the strong bond with his land of origin, where all his sculptures have genesis.

In the Lucca museum there are about 30 works on display, including wooden sculptures and mixed techniques that are the result of his studies for sculptures.

On Sunday 19 May 2019 at 18.30 it will also be possible to learn more about the work of Giorgio Conta during the meeting with the artist, led by Maurizio Vanni, which will always be held in Lu.C.C.A. Lounge & Underground.

It is therefore the spirit of belonging to the place of origin the theme of "Sculpting a territory". Giorgio Conta is an artist who has never taken advantage of globalization to define himself as a child of the world, but who has always shown off his origins and his love for that Trentino area that boasts a unique wooden sculptural tradition in the world.

In this personal exhibition, what we could call functional sculpture in which expressive freedom is placed at the service of an artistic object of daily use: a session for several people makes its appearance. A meta-design work, created in collaboration with the Zadra Interni company, which opens the door to beauty and uniqueness by entering the everyday life of a museum, a public place or a private home. "My new challenge - says Massimo Zadra - is to bring the originality of the functional work of art into the everyday life of places that, too often, become anonymous due to the excessive use of objects without identity".
